MARINE PACKAGING OF GREEK POWER PLANT COMPONENTS

One of the first non-standard orders received by Relopack Sp. z o.o., which required a great deal of creativity and commitment, was the construction of wooden crates and the securing for transport of huge installations headed by sea to a hydroelectric power station in Greece. The largest of these had a volume of almost 400 m3 and this meant that it had a surface area almost as large as the production hall the company had at the time. For this reason, and due to the dimensional possibilities of road transport, it was decided to produce the crates in pieces, and the assembly of the whole took place at the customer's premises. The crates produced at the time, but also the loads packed in weldable tarpaulins, are still some of the largest that Relopack has made in its history.

Scope of the project:

- production of wooden packaging (4 units) at the Chludów production site,

- production of tarpaulin packaging (2 units),

- packaging assembly and packaging with anti-corrosion protection for sea transport

Project size: the scale of the project is best demonstrated by the dimensions of the packaging. The largest was (L x B x H) = 17.8 x 5.5 x 5.3m. The weight of the largest piece was 163 t.

Number of Relopack employees involved in the project: approximately 10 people
